Recall Fuel Filter Remedy
for Fuel Injected Buell S3 Thunderbolt

Buell American Motorcycles recalled the fuel filter on the 1999 S3 Thunderbolt due to the possibility of the plastic filter case rupturing. In our opinion however, the recall to fix the fuel filter's questionable structure wasn't much of a fix.

The remedy filter hung down much further, requiring more fuel line, rotating the fuel valve position by 180^o and relocating it uncomfortably close to the motor in plain site.

Don replaced the recall with a K&N mini fuel filter made of polished billet. You won't see much of it though, it's tucked up under the fuel tank where the original fuel filter was.

The K&N fuel filter specifications are rated to withstand 6,000 PSI. Has a flowrate of 900 LPH and has a reusable filter element. Overall a nice replacement to the factory recall.
